If you would like to apply for our waitlist please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to email the camp office. Please see Dates and Rates for the summer schedule and fees.

Admission Criteria:
• Camper must have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder or a related communication disorder.
• Camper must be at least four years of age at the time of camp.
• Camper must be a current resident of North Carolina.
• Camper's behaviors must be manageable within the scope of ASNC policy and procedures, and the supervision the camp is able to provide.
• Camper must be exempt from any extreme health care conditions or needs.

Application Fee:
A non-refundable application fee is required for each individual applying to camp and must be paid by the deadline in order for the applicant to be included in the lottery. The fee is $25 for those applying online (find a link below) and $40 for those requesting a paper application. Parents or Guardians applying for more than one child will ONLY PAY THE APPLICATION FEE ONCE. Group homes will pay one application fee per home where residents are applying.

Proof of Residence Required:
Income verification (W2's etc) will no longer be required but we will require proof of residence to be submitted from all applicants. The proof of residence can be sent via fax, scanned and emailed, or put in the mail. We prefer email or fax.

For Proof of Residence: submit one of the following
Current utility bill (gas, electric, telephone, or cable) dated for service in your name or parents' name at your North Carolina address within the previous 30 days.
OR
Two pieces of mail postmarked within the previous 30 days reflecting your name or parents' name and North Carolina address.

Proof of residence must be in the same name as the camper, parent/guardian, or "person receiving information" on the registration form.
• For individuals living in group homes, send us one letter with a list of the names of the residents in the home on letterhead with address.

Lottery Process: It is the policy of ASNC to give equal consideration to all appropriate applicants by using a rotating selection process. Applicants for overnight and day camp will go through the same lottery system. Those who did not attend camp in 2009 will be given first priority for available slots. Campers who did attend camp in 2009 will fill remaining slots. A random lottery will determine the order in which campers in each priority group are chosen.

We will be accepting 5 Day Campers per week this summer.  If you are interested in this option, please refer to the Dates and Rates page.

Submit the application with all necessary supporting documents and you will receive confirmation from the camp office within 3 weeks. If you have submitted everything on time your camper will be entered into the lottery. Your camper will either be placed in a week of camp or placed on the waiting list based on their lottery number. The lottery will take place March 16-17th and you will receive notification of your campers placement in camp by the end of March.

Waiting List: After all available camp slots are filled; the remaining applicants will be placed on a tentative waiting list. Upon receipt of completed camper forms (these will be emailed or mailed to all applicants following the lottery), applicants will be placed on the official waiting list to attend camp. If you turn in all of the completed forms, your chances of getting into camp are greatly increased.  Late Registration forms will be placed at the bottom of the waiting list.
